[Scrap album of miscellaneous drawings, ca. 1825-1864 - owned by David Scott Mitchell]

The album contains miscellaneous material including prints, watercolour and pencil drawings, and ephemera such as greeting cards by various artists. At the back of the volume is a handwritten contents list. Some of the subjects include sentimental genre scenes, poetry and prose, portraits, landscapes of Australian and overseas views, animals, maps, churches and cathedrals, Chinese themed scenes, parodies of social life and customs, and photographs of Bombay and group portrait of officers of the 5th Regiment of B.N.F. in 1858. Artists include: Knapp family members, Bowdich, Wakeman, Hobson, Else, Kent, Whale, Cowper, Knight, Isaac, Gunton, Rodd, Townsend, Fraser, Les, Hayward, Hedger, Page, Bailey, Wilson, Cruttwell, Fox, Bird, Justice, and Nedham.
