21 negatives of views looking down onto Newport Beach and scenes on the beach where the trawler 'Aklavic' lies beached with crowds gathering to look at the scene. The 'Aklavic' was reported as being stolen by Robert Michael Brown on 14 October 1954 to make an escape after shooting at policemen in Bondi. Due to sea sickness he abandoned ship and was captured by police while hiding in the scrub on Bushrangers' Hill, Newport (Trove AMAZING MANHUNT ENDS IN CAPTURE OF FUGITIVE (1954, October 17).
