George Lambert and Lambert family, papers and pictorial material, ca. 1874-1942

The pencil sketches are mainly of preliminary works for Lambert's war paintings. Images are similar to those in 'The Charge of the Light Horse at Beersheba', 'The Charge of the 3rd light Horse Brigade at the Nek 7 August 1915', 'Light Horse veteran' (sketch 125) and for sculptures, 'Recumbent figure of a soldier' (sketches 99, 100, 101) and 'Geelong Grammar School war memorial'. Includes wrapping sheet with inscription: 'The charge at Walker's Ridge by G.W. Lambert'. Walker's Ridge is in the Gallipoli area.
