Diary, 10 September 1918 to 17 April 1919. Bound volume, written in pen and pencil.

Begins with the preparations for the taking of Damascus. 25 September he describes his actions at Samahr where he was awarded the Bar to the Military Cross. On 1 and 2 October he writes of marching into Damascus. He writes his diary while on the steps of the Sultan’s Palace, which is where he also sleeps.

Writes of the jubilation of the Armistice on November 11 and journey to Cairo. Travelled through Europe and arrived in England 10 April, 1919.
