Photographic negatives of the 10th Battalion, AIF at Mena Camp, Egypt, 1914-1915 / photographed by Victor Cromwell

This collection of negatives were produced from a Kodak ‘vest-pocket’ camera, which was a common camera owned by many Australian troops who served in WWI. 

Images include family members, three soldiers in Australia, possibly including Cromwell and sights around Mena Camp, Cairo, including photographs with Egyptian locals. There are images of the camp itself, the soldiers and their various activities, training exercises, a military funeral (where three members of the Battalion died of illness) and also a wedding. There are also some images taken on the island of Lemnos.
