Begins with the departure of the Santa Rosalia from Callao, Peru, and ends with the return to this port more than five months later. The heart of the log concerns the visit to Easter Island, 15-21 November, 1770, which was in effect a rediscovery of the Island, which had first been discovered by Jacob Roggeveen in 1722. From there the expedition proceeded to the archipelago of Chiloe, off the coast of Chile, The return voyage from Chiloe to Callao via Juan Fernandez Island is not described in the published account of the voyage.
