Sketchbook comprises bird drawings, botanical studies, insect studies, a fine drawing of a lobster, drawings of Atkinson's family home at Oldbury, near Sutton Forrest, and copies of European art works. The majority of the drawings are in watercolour, but there are also a number of pen and ink drawings.
