File 33: Handwritten letter from Mr Tasman Riley dated 27 August 1932 to Sir Warwick Fairfax asking him if he will guarantee an advance of five pounds from the Department of Labour and Industry to enable him to take his family to start farming at Riverstone on eight acres of land loaned to him for a period of five years. The letter in part says "this offer of land settlement will help me from out of the rut of unemployment and the dole". Attached is a copy of a letter from the company agreeing to the guarantee dated 30 August 1932
