John Frederick Mann, (1819-1907), explorer and surveyor, was born in Lewisham, London. He served four years in the military before joining the Trigonometrical Survey of Britain. He left Britain in 1841 arriving in Sydney on 6 March 1842. He was appointed as a licensed surveyor on 1848 in the Surveyor-General's Department and posted to the Counties...
