Administrative / Biographical history

HMAS Arunta (I), was constructed at Cockatoo Dockyard during the course of World War II. The ship was the first of three Tribal Class destroyers built during this time.

The Arunta began her operations on 17 May 1942 and served the Royal Australian Navy as a patrol ship and convoy escort. On 11 August 1942, she destroyed the Japanese submarin...
