Alexander MacCormick, surgeon, was born in Argyllshire, Scotland and went to Australia in 1883 to teach at the University of Sydney. During World War I he was commissioned in the Australian Army Medical Corps in Lemnos and also served with the British Expeditionary Force as colonel and surgeon in France.
