TELEVISION DRAMA ' LOULA ' for SBS-TV, Australia. In August 1990, Maniaty was commissioned to write a one-hour television play by the Melbourne-based producer Bob Weis, as part of a series of six to be shown on SBS-TV in late 1991. His play concerns a Greek ' proxy bride ' arriving in an Australian country town in 1952 and the shifting relationships that result within the Greek family and the wider ' Cold War ' community at the time
