Administrative / Biographical history

The Sydney Amateur Sailing Club was formed in October, 1872 and is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Australia. The foundation meeting of the Club took place in Tom Kearey’s Hotel on William Street in Octover 1872 when Captain J. H. Amora was appointed Commodore. In 1882 the Club obtained a waterfront site on Bennelong Point facing Sydney Cove, but...
