This is an artifically accumulated collection of mixed archival provenance. It has been acquired from various sources over time. It contains only letters written by Sir Joseph Banks to various correspondents and previously located at MLMSS 743/1-3 (MAV/FM4/1754-1756), A 78/3 (MAV/FM4/1747-1748), A 79/3 (MAV/FM4/1150), A 79/5 (MAV/FM4/1750-1751) and A 80/4 (MAV/FM4/1751-1752).¶Letters received by Banks from other people and accumulated by him, form part of his own collection of papers. Those letters received by Banks which were formerly located in collections at the above call numbers, were rehoused in The Sir Joseph Banks Electronic Archive in 1994-1995.¶¶Those letters written by Banks to other people are retained in this collection and listed here.¶Pagination which appears on the top right corner refers to the previous, now dispersed, volumes.¶¶Chronological
