George Hobler, pioneer cattle breeder, 1801-1881, emigrated from England 1825. He held properties in Tasmania and New South Wales from 1826 until 1851, when he went with his family to California, where he continued his pastoral activities. C.M. Stretton was the grandson of George Hobler
