Robert Angus Golding was born 23 March 1893 in the gold mining town of Tomingley near Parkes, N.S.W. He attended the local public school and won a scholarship to Sydney Teachers College in 1910. He obtained entry to the University of Sydney and obtained a Bachelor of Arts at the end of 1914. In 1915 he went to teach mathematics at North Sydney Boys...
