Though the authorship of the journal entries is not stated, a close comparison of the handwriting and style of entry, with that of Scott in DLMSQ 43, suggests that both the poems and the journal pages are in his hand. This is supported by the fact that these manuscripts arrived inside the case of DLMSQ 43, as part of the Dixson bequest
