Notes
General note
The Great Northern Hotel was designed to a high standard with every modern amenity. It was a fashionable meeting place for well to do local Novocastrians and Sydney visitors. After suffering several decades of neglect, and the effects of the Newcastle earthquake (1989), the hotel has been partially restored and continues to operate as a hotel.
