Irish insurgent and New South Wales settler. Dwyer participated in the Irish insurrection of 1798 with Joseph Holt and in 1803 in Robert Emmett's insurrection. In 1805 Dwyer, with others, was allowed to exile himself for life to New South Wales to avoid being brought to trial. He was granted land at Cabramatta, Sydney, in 1809 and was later appoint...
