Administrative / Biographical history

Rev. Philip Peters Agnew (1815-1885), a Church of England minister, arrived in Sydney in 1844. The following year he studied at St. John's College, Auckland. He returned to Sydney in 1846 and was appointed Chaplain to Darlinghurst Gaol. In 1847 he was ordained Deacon and served at St. Andrew's Cathedral. From 1848 to 1856 he was Rector of St. Paul'...
