Administrative / Biographical history
Thomas Holt (1811-1888), a wool merchant, financier and parliamentarian, arrived at Sydney from England in 1842. In Sydney he was a successful wool buyer and financier. He owned valuable land in Sydney and acquired large properties in NSW and Queensland. In 1861 he acquired the Holt-Sutherland Estate extending from Botany Bay to Port Hacking. In 1...
