Administrative / Biographical history
Private E. J. Flanagan, a steward of Bathurst, New South Wales was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He was 40 years old when he enlisted at Bathurst, 16 Sept. 1916. He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A19 Afric, 3 Nov. 1916 and served in France with the 57th Battalion. He was wounded at Bullecourt, and later sent back to England with trench fever....
