The particulars of a valuable, fertile, and very desirable estate, situate at Fifehead, in the county of Dorset, six miles from Shaftesbury, nine from Sherborne, and seven from Wincanton, (all good market towns,) and half-a-mile from the Great Western Road leading through Sherborne and Shaftesubury [electronic resource] : comprising the lordship or manor of Fifehead, with five hundred and seventy-four acres, three roads, and thirty-seven-perches, (be the same more or less,) of remarkably rich land, lying compact and of different qualities, but the principal part of it particularly well adapted to fattening cattle, and the dairy; with suitable dwelling-houses and out-buildings, in the possession of unexceptionable tenants; and three hundred and forty-six acres, one food, and one perch (be the same more or less,) of land, similar to the above, with suitable houses and out-buildings granted out by lease and copy, now determinable on one, two, and three lives. This estate and manor are held under the Bishop of Bristol by two freehold leases, each for three young lives, renewable in the customary manner, with the privilege of filling up the copies and leases, and also that of granting out at pleasure, for three fresh lives, at any time during the term, about three hundred and six acres, one road, and twenty perches, (more or less,) of the land now in possession, which valuable privilege renders it very little to freehold of inheritance. The manor of Fifehead, bounded in great part by the River Stour, is situate in a pleasant and healthy part of the country, and comprises the whole parish of Fifehead, where the rates and taxes are remarkably easy. The lands are well fenced, wooded, and watered, the out-buildings are convenient, and farm-houses commodious, one of which stands on a delightful eminence, and may, at a small expence, be converted into a desirable residence for a genteel family; the whole forming a most eligible estate, and capable of great improvenment: William Gillett, of Fifehead, will shew the estate: and particulars may be had at the office of Mr. Messiter, Shaftesbury; Messrs. Messiter, Wincanton; or at the Ship Inn, West Stour, near Fifehead.--to treat for the same application may be made personally, or by letter (post paid,) to Mr. Pryce, of Park-Street, Bath, or Mr. Messiter, of Shaftesbury aforesaid.
