Bankruptcies. Returns to an order of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 18 May 1838;--for, returns as to bankruptcies previous to the act of Parliament 1831, appointing official assignees to take possession of the estates:--1. The names of the official assignees, and of their official residence; 2. Names of the bankrupts previous to the act whose estates were taken possession of, in whole or in part, their description and residence; 3. Dates of their bankruptcies; 4. Amount of assets of each estate received from the original assignees; 5. Amount of debts due to the estates not then received; 6. Amount of assets from the estate since received; 7. Amount of further expected assets from the debts; 8. Amount of dividends declared by the official assignees, and dates; 9. Total amount paid to creditors; 10. Total amount remaining unpaid to creditors; 11. Expense charged for Assignee's Commission, and allowances; 12. Expense charged to the estate for petty charges; 13. Balance of cash in each account, debiting the same only with the cash paid away and charges. 14. How the balance is disposed of, whether paid to the Accomptant General; 15. Or retained in the hands of the official assignees for creditors not having yet applied for their dividends:--the receipts or payments, on account of the undivided estates, or of unclaimed dividends, to be separately returned [electronic resource].
