Coroners. Return to an address of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 26 August 1839;--for, a return of the number of coroners acting in England and Wales; specifying the county, city, borough, or liberty, wherein such coroner has jurisdiction, and by whom he is elected or appointed. A return of the number of inquests taken by each coroner in England and Wales, stating the number in each year separately, for the four years ending August 1839; the amount of fees for taking inquisitions, the charge for mileage (whether to and fro), and any other charges allowed in the account of each coroner; copy of the schedule now in force of fees, allowances, and disbursements to be paid by the coroner, pursuant to the act 1 Vict. c. 68, intituled, "an act to provide for the payment of the expenses of holding coroners' inquests." arranged by the justices in sessions held in each county, or by magistrates of each city, borough, or liberty, in England and Wales. Return of the number of deputy coroners in each county, city, borough, or liberty; stating by whom appointed; and statement of the extreme length and breadth of the district in which each county coroner has duties to discharge [electronic resource].
