River Thames (Board of Trade Staff). Returns of the total number of seamen who availed themselves of the arrangements provided by the Board of Trade for receiving their balances of wages at their homes, from 1st April 1878 to 31st March 1879:--of the aggregate amount of the money so transmitted to them, giving the places to which the pay has been sent, and the amount sent to each place:--of the total number of cases in which seamen who expressed desire to take advantage of these arrangements were, from various causes, prevented from so doing, within the same period:--of the number of seamen engaged as substitutes on board ship off gravesend, under the special arrangements of the Board of Trade within the same period; &c [electronic resource].
