Summary

Printed copy of a letter sent from Andrea Corsali to his patron, Giuliano de Medici, in 1516, describing a Portuguese sea voyage from Lisbon to India which rounded the Cape of Good Hope. Here Corsali observed the Southern Cross constellation for the first time. His work constitutes one of the earliest printed descriptions of the Southern Cross.
