Gus Ebeling was born at Percydale in the central Victorian goldfields in 1871. A farmer and grazier, he served in the Boer War. Ebeling enlisted in the First AIF and took part in the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. In March 1931, he became involved with the so-called White Army and created havoc in Victoria's Wimmera region with rumour...
