Slaves in the colonies. Return to an address of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 8th March 1826; for a return of all the public functionaries, being or acting as governor, lieutenant governor, chief judge, assistant judge, attorney general, fiscal, oidor, protector or assistant protector of slaves; Bishop, Archdeacon, or incumbent; or holding any patent offices under the Crown; in all the slave colonies belonging to His Majesty, who are proprietors of slaves, or of plantations worked by slaves; or who are in the occupancy or concerned in the management of slaves, either as attorney, manager, trustee, mortgagee, executor, or otherwise; specifying the particular colony in which such plantation is situated, or such slaves are domiciled, their number and the nature of the employments in which they are engaged [electronic resource].
