Abstracts of the returns made to the Board of Trade of wrecks, casualties, and collisions which occurred on and near the coasts of the United Kingdom, from the 1st January to the 30th June 1873, with particulars of lives lost; also of the returns made to the Board of Trade during the first six months of the year 1873 of the wrecks, casualties, and collisions which occurred on and near the coasts of the Channel Islands and the British possessions abroad; and of the returns made to the Board of Trade during the first six months of the year 1873 of the wrecks, casualties, and collisions which occurred to British vessels at sea and on and near the coasts of foreign countries; together with statements of the official inquiries in the United Kingdom into the causes of wrecks, &c., held by order of the Board of Trade, during the first six months of the year 1873; and of the official inquiries abroad, instituted by consular and colonial officers and others, into the causes of wrecks, &c., of which the reports were received at the Board of Trade, during the first six months of the year 1873; and statements shewing the lives saved on the coasts of the United Kingdom, together with the amounts granted out of the Mercantile Marine Fund as rewards for the salvage of life, contributions towards the maintenance of life boats, and expenses in connexion with the rocket and mortar apparatus for saving life, during the first six months of the year 1873; with charts [electronic resource].
