The charity founded by George Jarvis for the benefit of the poor inhabitants of the several parishes of Stanton-upon-Wye, otherwise Staunton-on-Wye. Bredwardine, and letton, all in the county of Hereford, governed by a Private Act of Parliament. 15 & 16 Vict c. 17, known as Jarvis's Charity Act, 1852, a scheme established thereunder by an order of the court of Chancery dated the 2nd day of August 1852, and a scheme established by an order of the charity commissioners dated the 10th day of August 1870.
