Sans Souci. [electronic resource] : Mr. Dibdin's twentieth night. By the authority of the Right Hon. the Lord Chamberlain, On Tuesday, November 26, 1793, And on every Tuesday, Thursday; and Saturday, will be presented, at Sans Souci, in the Strand, An entirely new Entertainment, called Castles in the air. The Extent and Variety of this Subject preclude all Possibility of particularly enumerating those Objects which it embraces. Among an incredible Number of others, Patriotism, Faction, Envy, Candour, Reasonable Pleasure, Philanthropy, Fame, Matrimony, Constancy, Glory, Puffing, Credulity, Singularity, Music, Hunting, Officiousness, Simplicity, Truth, Frugality, Popularity, and Loyalty will be occasionally touched upon. The Songs will come in the following Succession. Part I. Castles in the Air, Nappy, The Tear of Sensibility, No Good without an Exception, Taffy and the Birds, Tack and Half Tack, and the Village Wedding. Part II. The Token, The Soldier's Funeral, The Whistling Ploughman, The Jolly Ringers, Tom Tackle, Father and Mother and Suke, and the Power of Music. Part III. Jack's Fidelity, The Watchman, The Hare Hunt, Beauty's Donation, or British Bounty, The Auctioneer, and the Finale. The whole is written and composed, and will be spoken, sung, and accompanied by Mr. Dibdin, Under whose Directions several striking and novel Effects are introduced into his celebrated Instrument, made by Mr. Hancock. Colonnade and Bowers 5s. Area 3s. Gallery 2s. The Doors will be opened at 7 O'Clock, and the Performance begin at eight. Places to be taken at Mr. Dibdin's Warehouse, No. 411, Strand, where may be had all his Works, particularly the Second Edition of the Younger Brother, a Novel, in 3 Vols. dedicated to the Most Noble the Marquis of Salisbury. Nappy, the Tear of Sensibility, The Token, The Whistling Ploughman, and Beauty's Donation, or British Bounty are this Day published; the Hare Hunt will be published on Monday next, and some one of the Songs on every Monday following.
