Tropologia [electronic resource] : a key, to open scripture metaphors, in four books. To which are prefixed arguments to prove the divine authority of the Holy Scriptures. Containing, Book I. Philologia Sacra; or, the Tropes and Figures, in Scripture, reduced under their proper Heads, with a brief Explication of each. Book II. The most significant Tropes and Metaphors, respecting God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; as also the sacred Word of God opened and improved by Way of Parallel, with their Disparity; from which striking Inferences are deduced. Book III. A practical Improvement of the most frequent Metaphors, Allegories, and Similies, of the Old and New Testament. Book IV. Containing such Metaphors in the Holy Scriptures as relate to the Graces of the Holy Spirit, the blessed Ordinances of the Gospel, the Holy Angels of God, the Souls and Spirits of Men, the Church of God, Men in general, good Men, wicked Men, the true Ministers of the Gospel, false Teachers, false Churches, Sin, the Devil, the Means of Grace, Providence, Afflictions, the World, the Life of Man, and the Four last Things. Together with types of the Old Testament, by the Rev. Mr. Benjamin Keach. The whole carefully revised; the Marginal Quotations inserted in their proper Places; and Obsolete Words exchanged.
