Convicts, Van Diemen's Land. Return of the number of persons charged with criminal offences, who were committed to the different gaols in New South Wales and in Van Diemen's Land, and the dependencies thereof, for trial at the assizes or sessions held for the several counties or circuits, and towns therein, during the last seven years; distinguishing the number in each year, and showing the nature of the crimes respectively of which they were convicted or acquitted, and with which those were charged against whom no Bills were found, and who were not prosecuted; the sentences of those convicted; and the number of those executed who received sentence of death; distinguishing males from females, so far as relates to Van Diemen's Land.
