Limited edition of Otto Staab's manuscript map in ink, watercolour and gouache, with 18 marginal insets and panel depicting people and fauna in the Pacific, [1812]
"State Library of New South Wales Foundation limited edition" impressed in blind tooling stamp.
Surrounded by wonderful illuminated panels, the map itself is 17 x 21.5 cm. Delightfuly naïf hand-colouring of the original caused China to be rendered in blue, and the oceans in 'earth' colour....
