General note
This map of the world is divided into two hemispheres with two smaller celestial spheres down the centre of the map. New Guinea as well as Terra Australis is shown as part of one southern continent called Magallanica. The map is surrounded by pictorial imagery along the borders divided by continent - Europa, Asia, Peruana, Magallanica and Africa.
Mitchell Rare Books copy is the first map bound in: the Hague, 1599 ed. of Linschoten's work....
