Dating: [1857-1863?] First lands sales in Scarsdale occurred in October 1857. The leads from Woady-Yallock Creek were heavily mined from 1862. Before 1883, A branch railway was made from Ballarat to Scarsdale was opened in 1883 (McGrath, Patrick ... [et. al.], The story of Browns and Scarsdale p. 55, 57 and 60)
