A scheme to settle and establish the silk weaving trade on a solid foundation. [electronic resource] : And for the better employing the poor of this kingdom. Consisting of two parts, vis. I. To hinder effectually the Running and Smuggling of all foreign Wrought Silks, &c. II. To hinder the Debasing and Adulterating of our Manufactures for common Use and Wear; not by any outward Compulsion or Force, but by making it The Interest of every Manufacturer to fabricate good and durable Commodities; and to make it the Interest of every Particular Weaver to outdo each other in Perfection; and to secure to each Manufacturer the Credit and Reputation that will accrue to him from his Industry and Labour. Offer'd to the consideration of the judicious and rational broad silk weavers. By Claudius Rey, weaver.
