Marie Olive Armstrong (nee Stonehouse) was born in Sydney in 1928. At the age of 19 she joined the New Theatre in Newtown. For over 60 years she worked there as an actor, director, stage manager, choreographer and drama and dance tutor. She married actor John Victor Armstrong in 1951.
