Private Charles Hardy, born at Dawes Point, Sydney in 1894 was a blacksmith’s assistant aged 21 when he enlisted as a Private in the 19th Battalion, 12 Feb. 1915. He embarked from Sydney on board the troopship HMAT Ceramic, 25 June 1915 and served at Gallipoli and in France, where he was wounded in the Battle of Fleurbaix in France. He was repatria...
