Convict Job Neal (Neale) was tried at the Warwick Assizes on July 29th 1820 and sentenced to transportation for life. From the time of his arrival in Sydney aboard the ship 'Speke' in May 1821 he was assigned to the Rev. Benjamin Carvosso, the first Wesleyan Methodist minister to preach in Australia.
