Louis de Freycinet made a manuscript transcription of this letter which he sent to be printed in the Bulletin de la Société de géographie for 1828. His manuscript transcription is now in the National Library of Australia.

Letter is annotated by Louis de Freycinet 'Lettre de Messieurs Quoy et Gaimard' at top left of first page, and 'Suite de la lettre de Messieurs Quoy et Gaimard' at top of second bifolium (page 5).
