Joseph Carlos was born in Ireland in 1867. He obtained an MA in Dublin before emigrating. He lectured in Latin and Greek at the University of Sydney, becoming professor at St. John's College before being called to the Bar. Carlos worked on matters of arbitration before the foundation of the Arbitration Court. He chaired boards which made early awa...
