Administrative / Biographical history

Arthur Horace Pugsley (known as Horace or Horrie) was born in 1884 in Forest Lodge, Sydney. His mother and stepfather ran an orchard in Galston, north-western Sydney. Horace lived in Portland and worked as a bricklayer’s labourer at Portland Cement Works.
He enlisted on 19 August 1914 at the age of 30.
