The Big Sister Movement was set up in 1928 and started out providing accommodation for single girls moving to Sydney from rural New South Wales. As times changed, the Movement moved its focus to help elderly men and women and, now known as the Big Sister Foundation, it provides services for people with disabilities and their carers.
