Administrative / Biographical history
Mackellar Theatrical Society was established in 1955 by Violet and Hazel Meldrum. It originally staged its productions in Manly, beginning with 'Katinka', at the Embassy Theatre (later The Odeon). The Meldrum sisters directed 19 Mackellar productions at this site, all with Frederick Foxley as musical director.
