Administrative / Biographical history
Black & White artist, Emile Mercier, was born in New Caledonia and moved to Sydney in 1919. A freelancer, his work appeared in Smiths Weekly, the Bulletin, Truth and Daily Mirror. In 1948 he was employed by the Sydney Sun, where he worked until he retired in 1968 -- information from file.
