Administrative / Biographical history

Mary Garthy, nee Szoke, was born in Nagyecsed, Hungary in 1925. Her father managed a huge estate and her family lived in a castle about 26 kilometres from Budapest. Mary's parents had converted to Catholicism, but no one else in her extended family converted.

Mary went to a French convent boarding school and qualified as a language teacher....
