Hudson had written a critical article about Lindsay in the Triad which had provoked a letter from Lindsay. Hudson had replied and this letter is Lindsay's detailed response to Hudson's letter. It is lengthy (9 pp.) and provides valuable insights into his own creative output and his views on Australian creativity in general.

Norman Lindsay (1879-1969) was primarily known as a versatile artist (painter, etcher, cartoonist, sculptor, illustrator and model-maker) but he also wrote novels, essays, art and literary criticism and reminiscences. He was an influential force in Australian art and letters during the first half of last century.
