F. C. Mowle, 1872-1952, was a grandson of Stewart Majoribanks Mowle who settled in Australia in 1836. He compiled a genealogical history of pioneer families of Australia with the assistance of members of families concerned. The first edition was published in 1939 and the fourth in 1948
